Jayden Ojeda to contest 2016 Australian Formula Ford Series
Jayden Ojeda has been confirmed to lead the Spectrum works team assault on the 2016 Australian Formula Ford Series. The 16-year-old from Claremont Meadows, NSW, who was recently awarded the News Local Junior Sports Star trophy in Penrith for his Formula Ford efforts in 2015, will pilot a Spectrum 014 alongside FF stalwart Paul Zsidy. Team principal Michael Borland said: “I am excited to have Jayden with us again this year, he showed enormous potential in his first season, culminating in a podium at his first National race meeting. “With the change of tyre in Formula Ford this year it is making our engineer/driver combination work more intensive than ever before, analysing different geometry and shock absorber packages giving our drivers experience that they wouldn’t gain in control chassis formulas. “These skills will stand them in great stead for their future.” Jayden Ojeda added: “I am excited to be teaming up with the Borland crew again this year, with their vast knowledge and experience we are hoping this converts to a successful 2016 season.” The Spectrum works team’s 2016 newcomers Nic Carroll and Aaron Cameron will also compete at the opening round of the Australian FF Series, complementing their mainly State-based programs. The season kicks off with Round 1 of the Australian Formula Ford Series at Sandown Raceway between April 1-3. For more information, contact Michael Borland: mike@borlandracing.com or +61 3 9580 5236.
