FORMULA FORD ENGINE TESTS
At the completion of racing at round four of the 2018 Australian Formula Ford Championship at Sandown, three Duratec engines were removed trackside from cars #2, #29 and #97. All three engines were taken to Cylinder Head Innovations in Kinglake (VIC) for a dyno check and comparison. The engine dyno tests didn't show any abnormalities
with any of the three engines. As a result of this, all three engines were returned to their owners, having satisfied the scrutineers involved that no performance advantage was evident on the engines tested. This was the first time that the Formula Ford Association has asked competitors to remove engines trackside for compliance checks for a number of years. Similar engine checks will take place again in the future, in order to make sure that all engines used in the Australian Formula Ford Championship comply with Formula Ford Regulations. The Formula Ford Association committee would like to thank the owners of the three engines checked for their cooperation and understanding during the process.
