2021 Australian Formula Ford Championship calendar announcement

The Formula Ford Association Inc. is proud to announce the 2021 Australian Formula Ford Championship calendar.

For the first time in our 50-year history, the Australian Formula Ford Championship was cancelled due to the unprecedented Covid-19 pandemic, meaning we had no 2020 Champion. We are thrilled to announce we will be back in force in 2021 and continue to breed future champions.

In order to make Formula Ford racing at the National level as cost-effective as possible, without undermining the relentless competitiveness that has always characterised our championship, we have delivered a 2021 calendar that allows our drivers to compete on a widespread of circuits within a mix of various State Championships. We are also excited to once again race within the growing Australian Motor Racing Series (AMRS) at a few events throughout the year.

The 2021 Australian Formula Ford Championship will comprise of seven rounds, held in four different states - Victoria, South Australia, Queensland and New South Wales.

The seven rounds of the 2021 Australian Formula Ford Championship will be spread from March to December as follows:

Round 1: 6-7 March at Sydney Motorsport Park (AMRS)

Round 2: 21-23 May at Wakefield Park Raceway (NSW State Championship)

Round 3: 11-13 June at Winton Motor Raceway (AMRS)

Round 4: 23-25 July at Sandown Raceway (Vic State Championship)

Round 5: 6-8 August at Queensland Raceway (AMRS)

Round 6: 24-26 September at Phillip Island GP Circuit (Vic State Championship)

Round 7: 3-5 December at The Bend Motorsport Park (AMRS)

Once again, a separate championship for FF1600 (Kent-powered) cars will be lining up alongside the outright Formula Ford Championship for a three-round "series within the series":

Round 1: 6-7 March at Sydney Motorsport Park (AMRS)

Round 2: 6-8 August at Queensland Raceway (AMRS)

Round 3: 3-5 December at The Bend Motorsport Park (AMRS)

More information about the 2021 Australian Formula Ford Championship will be made available in the coming weeks. In the meantime, we'd like to wish a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all of our members, competitors and supporters in Australia and overseas.
